Rihanna Sees Sales Increase in Greece!
LONDON, England, August 10, 2007 - In the US and UK Rihanna has become a “wasm” falling from the top of the charts, but in Europe the Barbadian lass is holding strong.
Her hit single “Umbrella” continues its marathon run on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles ending its 10th week Friday as the #1 song.
He newest album “Good Girl Gone Bad” has not done as well as its lead track and last week was at #16 on the Top 100 Albums in Europe, but a big spurt in Greece this week has pole vaulted it from #16 to #7 and lands an overall spot at the end of the week in the #5 position.
“Umbrella” rode the UK Single Charts for 10 weeks straight making it the longest-running number one single since Wet Wet Wet’s Love Is All Around dominated the charts in 1994 but not long enough to beat the all time record of 16 weeks by Bryan Adams in 1991, with his hit single, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”.
It was unseated by Timbaland’s “The Way I Are”.
